WHEELING, WV – The Wheeling Miners indoor football team is proud to announce the launch of the Wheeling Miners Reading Book Club, an initiative aimed at encouraging literacy and education among elementary school students in Wheeling and the Ohio Valley region.

As part of this exciting program, students who read just three books can become official book club members. Upon completion, they simply need to fill out a form verifying their participation to receive an exclusive Miners swag bag and a season ticket to all five regular-season home games with the purchase of an adult season ticket. Additionally, parents will receive a 20% discount on season tickets, making family participation even more accessible. Season tickets start at just $80, and the Miners’ first home game kicks off on Monday, March 10th at Days Inn by Wyndham Field at WesBanco Arena.

Education & Athletics: A Winning Combination

The Wheeling Miners believe that success on the field and in life starts with a strong foundation in education. By promoting reading at an early age, this initiative reinforces the idea that learning and athletics go hand in hand. Whether in the classroom or on the field, commitment, discipline, and hard work are essential for achieving success.

“Our mission extends far beyond the game of football,” said GM and Head Coach Josh Resignalo, of the Miners. “We want to make a lasting impact on our community, and that starts with our youth. Encouraging kids to embrace reading early in life gives them the tools to succeed in school, sports, and beyond.”

Strengthening the Community Through Football

The Wheeling Miners are committed to being more than just a football team—we are a pillar of the community. By providing fun and meaningful opportunities for young students, we aim to create positive experiences that will inspire and uplift the next generation. The Reading Book Club is just one of many ways we strive to make a difference in the lives of children in Wheeling and throughout the Ohio Valley. We invite local schools, teachers, and parents to join us in this initiative and help foster a love for reading among our young students. Together, we can build a stronger community—one book and one game at a time.

Join the movement. Read. Learn. Play.
